Have a 3 hour drive through the decent desert road that is very well cared after, after about 1.5 hours you will an interval to stretch legs, get a drink, or freshen up. Then continue the drive for another 1.5 hours to enjoy amazing day trip to Alexandria. First visit the rock-cut Roman catacombs, which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock, and then visit Pompay's Pillar, which constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally from the Serapeum temple, which was dedicated the Bull God Serapis that was glorified by both Egyptian and Greek people, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the Soma and the Caesarean. Lunch at local restaurant in Alexandria, and then we proceed to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria that was once one of the wonders of the ancient world. Lunch at a local restaurant on the Mediterranean to enjoy its sea food, then you will finish your trip by visiting Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Finally you will drive back to your hotel in Cairo.
